Your school or organization is invited to participate in

Tennessee College App Week.

The goal of College App Week is to build excitement around the college application process and provide every graduating Tennessee high school senior the opportunity to apply. Holding a College App Week event is a great way for your school or organization to encourage all high school seniors to take the first step towards continuing their education after high school. Schools and organizations participating in College App Week set aside time and space for seniors to complete at least one application for admission while receiving the encouragement and assistance of school, college and community volunteers.

By registering, your school will receive all the materials needed to ensure a successful College App Week, including:

-Promotional Banner

-"I Applied" Stickers

-Site Coordinator Handbook—includes promotional ideas, College App Week best practices, timeline, poster templates, etc.

Is there any cost for my school or organization to participate in Tennessee College App Week?

There is NO cost to participate in Tennessee College App Week. Tennessee College App Week is designed to give Tennessee high school seniors the opportunity to apply to college while receiving assistance from college and community volunteers. All College App Week materials that a high school needs to hold a successful event are provided to schools at no charge.

What is a Tennessee College App Week Site Coordinator?

In order to participate in Tennessee College App Week, a school must identify a College App Week site coordinator. The College App Week site coordinator serves as primary organizer of all local App Week activities and will be the Tennessee Higher Education Commission’s primary contact person.  Schools and organizations can register for App Week and identify their site coordinator by visiting https://2011collegeappweek.eventbrite.com. 

What are my responsibilities as a Tennessee College App Week site coordinator?

The Tennessee Higher Education Commission works closely with the site coordinator from each participating high school or organization to ensure their event is a success. Some of the responsibilities of the site coordinator include:

• Reserving the appropriate location where the event will be held (typically a computer lab or media center)
• Ensuring an appropriate number of working, internet-ready computers and printers will be available during the event
• Developing a schedule for the day(s) of the event to ensure all students will have the opportunity to participate and that sufficient volunteers will be available for the duration of the event
• Distributing student materials prior to the event and working with teachers to ensure students complete the appropriate activities prior to the event
• Identifying volunteers to help make your event a success
